I read in the other thread that PAL will again operate the Qs. Kawawang Qs, di magkakandaugaga ang pintura! Or will they be retaining the same livery?
Gosh, this goes to show that there is really something wrong with PAL management. It was working well before! PaPALit PALit pa kasi!

I doubt may bagong B(b)Qs. I dont think so. I do sense an upcoming rift between PAL and APX.

both are owned by LT so I don't sense any rift between the 2 "unless" what is written in SMC buying 40% of PAL is true.

I think the long term of this is APX will benefit from this return of Qs to PR...
Here are my observations and assumptions: I think the Q serviced routes are not generating enough revenues. (except maybe for caticlan and busuanga) PAL will try to re-establish itself on this routes served by the Q and immediately gain a marginal of market share here in the philippines. APX on the other hand will fully concentrate as a pure LCC model utilizing a single type of aircraft servicing short to medium routes with a full fleet of 320s. (lower operating costs easier for logistics to maintain spare parts) this will be an advantage for 2P
If Cebu Pacific could only dispose their ATRs I think they would also have. Remember that two years ago they still had options of additional 4-6 ATRs more. For everyones info they did not use this option and maintained with a fleet of 8 ATRs and concentrated on purchasing more 320s till 2015.
The turboprops are aircraft which can only get revenues from passengers since these aircraft are not designed to carry cargoes, 5J will have an advantage over PAL because they have other ways to generate ancillary revenues with this turbos.
So the way i see it: 2P = can fully concentrate as an LCC PR = will try to capture a margin of the market and compete again with 5J on this routes (hmmmmm?!)

Though isn't there an LCC market for the Qs to those small airport destinations? So this means PAL Express shall be born again? Damn, those Qs must be getting heavy due to the number of white coatings it took from changing livery. Air Philippines to PAL Express to Air Phil Express and back to PAL.
How about destinations like Catamaran, Calbayog, etc? Aren't these more fit for an LCC market?

Pero hindi ba sila ini-i strip? Well better connections para sa passengers. T2 hub na talaga. I see kasi yung flights ng 2P as similar to what PR has. Mas mababa yung cost. Pero with the Qs you technically add a lot of former PR destinations at hopefully mainline siya. Hoping you earn miles din with these flights. Bora and Busuanga would be a great addition to the system. So does this mean 5J can't really claim they have the most destinations in the domestic market?

5J has more routes as they are operating from 3 hubs, MNL, CEB and CRK. But destination wise, I think they are almost the same.
I just dont know how true it is though that PAL will have majority of their A320s operated by 2P and just concentrate on international routes.

Parang I don't really see PR disposing their A320s. The new batch serves not only domestic but regional flights as well that demands a full bi-class config. I don't see them going to APX really, but rather the options PR took might be the ones going to APX. Just my two cents on the matter.

Well, taken from our favorite blog, it says that majority of the A320s of PAL will be going to APX. Eh, any news from that blog, for as long as it is not from a credible source but from the blog itself, is a possible BS write-up. Here is the entry: airlinesoftheworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2p&action=display&thread=32And so far, that blog has quite had so many BS stories. Unless they indicate it comes from a different source.

Yeah. Hence, our B.W.I.S.It attitude to it hahaha It even mentioned Afriqiyah before, up to now, walang nag materialize. Any news on it? Interested kasi ako to know an African carrier signified interest to commence service to MNL. The last was Egyptair. Even Yemenia daw was planning to go here also.

Anything from that blog unless quoted from an credible source is all BWISIt. Remember them saying PAL is letting go of its cabin reconfigurations are letting go of the 777 orders? The exact opposite happened.
